ABOUT THIS AUTHOR...

Geoff Shaw was born and raised in Mt. Vernon, Iowa and received his Bachelors in fine arts from the University of New Mexico in 2007 and a Masters in Sequential Art from The Savannah College of Art and Design in 2011. During graduate school, he worked on several professional projects including: the Batman annual 2011 and Grim Fairy tales Hook' #5. After placing in the Walt Disney Imaginations' competition, he recieved an internship in Los Angeles. In Imagineering he worked on projects ranging from concept design to line art for Disney's mobile app comic "Habit Heroes", before leaving to persue work in comics. His prior works include pencil art for Pacific Rim: Tales from Year Zero, line art on the four issue mini-series 'Buzzkill' with writer Donny Cates.

Judd Winick (born February 12, 1970) is an American comic book, comic strip and television writer/artist and former reality television personality. Winick first gained fame for his 1994 stint on MTV's The Real World: San Francisco, before earning success for his work on comic books as Green Lantern, Green Arrow, and Pedro and Me, his autobiographical graphic novel about his friendship with Real World castmate and AIDS educator Pedro Zamora. He created the animated TV series The Life and Times of Juniper Lee, which ran for three seasons on Cartoon Network.

Great comic!

Great comic. I wish it was a continuing series. The story is well written and the art work is well done. The best way to describe it is what "The Walking Dead" has done for zombies "A Town Called Dragon" does for dragons. Hope they do a follow up in the future.

Simply amazing art and panel placement, not to mention an engaging story and charismatic characters. At first the characters seemed very 1D, but as the story progressed you begin to see more of the nuances and their past histories. And then there's the dragon, a character in itself. The design and art is amazing, spot on. Reminds me of one of the dragons from Reign of Fire. Its evolution is also really cool and helps explain why it grows so large in such a short amount of time.

The art is spectacular. The colors are great, though I will say the lines aren't perfect. Highly recommended for anyone into creature comics or who simply love dragons.

where's the last part?

I ended up getting both the paperback copy of this book as well as the kindle version because I enjoyed it so much. But when I downloaded th kindle version, I found that the last part of the book was missing in the kindle version. It was a serious disappointment.

What a fun graphic novel!

Starts out back in the past with Vikings fighting dragons. Then spins over to our time in good ol' Colorado. I think one of the reasons I enjoyed it so much is that I live there. Even so, the storyline, characterization, and art were all done up real nice. Was a little sad that the dragons are bad and need to be killed. All in all a great book though.
