This was very early pre code horror and it's reprinted beautifully here. Every page , even the ads are restored and look outstanding.
The stories are not that gory as that would come late. In fact it's a shame that no one has reprinted those later really gory comics much. But these are typical short horror stories from 1949 and one issue is from 1950. The art is very good in here too, with several good artists like 'johnny craig' and 'john l blummer' in here. This has lots of ghost stories and such, but in fact this could have been published during the code era probably. So don't get this expecting that gory stuff that some other publishers had. Someone should reprint the 'black cat mystery' series for example. DARK horse always does a fantastic job on reprinting old comics and this is no exception Each issue was around 54 pages long. Comics were really worth you money back then! !0c was like spending a dollar to them though probably. But you really go your moneys worth.

These stories are extremely enjoyable but sometimes the dialogue is just plain hilarious. Oh well the art is okay and it’s interesting seeing the old ads which ran in these books.
