About the author
I write comic books! Growing up, I always wanted to write comics, but I ended up trying my hand at fiction first. I got my MFA from Columbia University, published a book of short stories with The Dial Press in 2006 called Voodoo Heart, then finally broke into comics in 2009 and haven't looked back since. I've worked extensively for DC Comics, writing such titles as Batman, Detective Comics, Justice League, the comic event books DC Dark Knights Metal and Death Metal, and Swamp Thing, among others. I've also created a number of series with some great co-creators and partners -- books like We Have Demons, Clear, Night of the Ghoul, Nocterra, American Vampire, Wytches, the Wake, AD: After Death, and more... I live in NY with my wife, Jeanie and our three boys. I am also a big fan of Elvis Presley.

All Star Batman #3 "My Own Worst Enemy" / "The Cursed Wheel Part 3"
Script: Scott Snyder
Artists: John Romita Jr. /Devan Shalvey
Plot: While transporting Two Face to the destination, the KGBeast confronts both men hoping to kill the Batman as a contract put out by the Penguin and the Black Mask. Can Batman keep Two Face safe from the driven assassin? Meanwhile in the second story of this book, Duke and Batman are on the hunt for Zsasz.
This book adds a new wrinkle into the Bruce Wayne lore as we find out that Bruce briefly grew up in rehabilitative home in upstate Innsmouth, during a summer. Here it is revealed that he grew up with a friend that will later terrorize Gotham City. I thought this new information came out of nowhere and it seems to be something new that Snyder added to the Batman lore. Still the new fact added another layer to this story and I'm still hooked on how Batman will be bringing Two Face to the destination. Once again Batman goes through a rough time and the coolest scene in the book was Batman taking on KGBeast. The fight choreography is definitely more visceral and Romita Jr does a great job of framing the action.
Batman gets his butt kicked and it never looked so gorgeous. Truly Batman is pushed to the limit and seeing him struggling to come out on top is compelling drama. The Cursed Wheel story also trudges along, but I get so little that at this point I don't really consider it a story.
