I have mixed feelings about this volume. On the one hand, I still think Tom King's run of Batman may well be the very best thing going on in comic books right now: beautiful, clever art and brilliant writing.
This volume included several sections devoted to the main "Bane" storyline. I'll give this section an A- There is extra credit in there for some creative efforts in the writing (use of a Shakespeare poem throughout), but this section of the story flagged a bit. It was very good, mind you, just not as good as the rest of this series has been.
Where I think the volume really stood out, ironically, is in the vignette stand-alone stories. These were simply beautifully drawn and told.
I found the whole book extraordinarily well done, though perhaps not up to the standards of the very best book in the series. Highly recommended.
