Yuki Amemiya and Yukino Ichihara, better known as the mangaka team Ameichi, have come together yet again to bring us another adventurous and exciting series. As a fan of their previous series, 07 Ghost, I was both excited and nervous to read this. After such a great run on 07 Ghost, especially with the addition of an extra final chapter, how does an author team continue on after that?
By writing Battle Rabbits, that's how.
Set in our world, the story follows orphan and teenager Kaguya Kokuryuu who, upon meeting the Battle Rabbit Mao and encountering an Ogre possessing a bully from his school, discovers his identity as a Battle Rabbit and the carrier of the legendary Golden Rabi Jewel, a stone gem that, in the hands of an Ogre, could destroy the world.
At first glance, there's a lot in this story that is reminiscent of the bonds, relationships, and storylines from their first series. However, the story is very fresh and the new characters are incredibly intriguing. Taking an interesting turn by utilizing Buddhist influences, sci-fi, fantasy, and elements of Japanese culture, Ameichi have created a captivating new tale for readers to follow. Kaguya in particular starts to worm his way into your heart as you read and see how, as events unfold, his selfless nature and caring heart become two of his biggest strengths.
Without giving too much away, fans of Ameichi's first series will get quiet a number of hints and easter eggs scattered through out this new series as well, which oddly enough, also serve to differentiate this new epic tale from their last. Skillfully woven in though, none of these would detract if one hasn't read their previous series either.
All I can say is read it. NOW. You won't be disappointed.

Kaguya Kokuryuu war damals noch ein kleiner Junge als er Zeuge wurde, wie sein Vater von Dämonen getötet wurde. Obwohl niemand ihm geglaubt hat, würde er diesen Moment niemals vergessen.
Jahre später wird Kaguya von einem mysteriösen Licht getroffen und findet sich in einem Kampf wieder.
Eine geschickte Kriegerin mit Hasenohren rettet ihn und schickt Kaguya auf den Weg, der neueste Verteidiger der Erde zu werden - als Battle Rabbit!
Nach 07- Ghost ist das DER neue manga der Autoren Yuki Amemiya und Yukino Ichihara
kurz: Ameichi.
Der Manga erschien erstmals 2015 in Japan
(2 Jahre nach dem erfolgreichem Manga 07-Ghost 2013)
und ist momentan nicht auf Deutsch lizensiert.
So gleich ich hörte das Yuki Amemiya wieder einen Manga rausbringt, wollte ich diesen kaufen. Allerdings habe ich gehofft das dieser Manga auf deutsch lizensiert wird. Jedoch dann aufgegeben und diesen Manga hier gekauft.
Artwork:
Zum Artwork muss man nicht viel sagen das ist der klassisch Stil von Ameichi. Es ist etwas sonderbar, hat man sich jedoch daran gewöhnt verliebt man sich in den Zeichenstil!
Charaktere:
Die Charaktere habe ich sehr schnell ans Herz geschlossen. Sie sind alle liebevoll gezeichnet. Zu beachten sind die Details. Mao (Rabbit Kriegerin) scheint mir noch etwas flach vom Charakter her zu sein, aber ich denke das kommt noch. Gegen Ende taucht ein weiterer Charakter auf, er hat was mysteriöses und ähnelt etwas Frau von 07- Ghost. Auf diesen bin ich mega gespannt!
Als 07-Ghost Fan war dieser Manga ein MUSS. Der Klappentext erinnerte mich stark an 07- Ghost jedoch ist die Story ganz anders und ich liebe es so wie es ist.
Unser Protagonist Kaguya scheint etwas älter als Teito sein, was mich nicht stört.
War aber tatsächlich etwas ungewohnt einen älteren Protagonisten zu haben. Teilweise wegen dem Zeichenstil.
Lieferung und Zustand:
Den Manga habe ich hier gebraucht von einem Privathändler gekauft. Er kam relativ schnell an wenn man betrachtet das es ein Privathändler vom Ausland war.
Mein Fazit:
Dieser Manga hat in mir alte Gefühle geweckt. Es hat diesen 07-Ghost feeling ist aber in meinen Augen doch irgendwie komplett anders.
Es ist ein MUST HAVE für alle 07-Ghost und Ameichi fans.
Ich liebe den Manga und werde mir auch die restlichen Teile kaufen!
