Wonderful gripping series by Remender. I've been sticking to the superhero trope my entire comic-reading life until I was introduced to Brian K Vaughn's "Y the Last Man". Remender is able to tell a fascinating story that really speaks to character development and human struggle. Though still sci-fi in nature, the characters go through relatable internal dilemmas.

Scalera and White's artwork is stunning. I find myself poring over each page in detail. I took a full week to read the first 6 issues just because I wanted to savor every frame.

I would highly recommend this book for all comic book lovers, especially those who haven't read much aside from the superhero standard!

Another ridiculously intense and riveting installment of the misfortunate family you've come to love. Flawed, but noble. Beautiful, but casual art. So amazing!

Fantastic follow up to the issues of Vol 1. The stories continues to be fast paced, but races through incredible worlds (Scalera does and amazing job and Dean White 's colors are so rich and well painted that they make each panel a beautiful painting all on it's own). During one issue I felt that the story moved too fast, that I needed a breath, and that the fast action pared with introspective narration was too much and happening too quickly. The thing about Remener's writing, however, is that while it is very fast paced, he goes exactly where you want him to go in exciting ways that you never dreamed up. This volume ends with a tremendous cliff hanger and wicked set up, making me all too excited for Vol 3.

The story really starts to build nicely in this vol. This was the comic that really got me sucked into Rick Remender and all of his other work. Big fan, and recommend this Black Science to any Sci-fi comic fan. you will not be disappointed.

This is a great book. I loved the first tpb of this series and this one lives up to the last one. great art and a must have for any fans of Rick Remender. Also if you are just getting into Remender's stuff check out Fear Agent. This stuff is New school mixed with old school sci fi comics at its best.

I got volume one when I was first getting into comics and this is just as good. Highlights are the multi dimensional versions of Grant McKay. Also some great narration by Kadir that reveals why he does what he does. And great flash backs for both Rebecca and the Shaman. The ONLY minus is that they only stay in dimension.

It's so imaginative and explosive in so many ways. The writing is solid. The art is just WOW. Possibly my favorite series I've read this year.

Altro fumetto rovinato dallo zelo dello scrittore.
Ho fatto fatica a tirarlo avanti. Troppi bla bla bla.

I recommend to ONLY read this title in the Trade paperback format. If you were to read it month to month, it would (in my opinion) seem a little disjointed, jumping from character to character, place to place (and often planet to planet). That being said, when you read an entire story arc at once, it flows very well, and moves extremely fast (I read it in one sitting). I would say that this volume moves faster than the first Trade, but it could be partially that I am now used to the pacing and artwork.

SPOILER ALERT

The main difference between this second volume and the first is that although this second story arc DOES give us a little more background on some of the secondary characters, it doesn't dwell on them very long, keeping the aforementioned fast pace. It was good to get some info on Rebecca, Kadir, and most of all, the Shaman (didn't care so much about the kids, but even they seem more endearing now). Plus it's always good to see the different versions of Grant, Kadir, & Blokk that the Eververse has churned out.

MORE SPOILERS

The main difference between this volume and the last is that most of the story (with the exception of a flashback and the exploits of yet another Grant) takes place on one planet, a crazy messed up planet with at least 3 sentient species on it. We also see the very brief introduction of an alien life-form (possibly at, or close to the core of "The Onion") watching our travelers. The third story arc begins with both Chandra, and psychic millipede version of Blokk ending up with functioning pillars, and our group (with a few new members) heading toward the heart of the onion. To what end? I guess we'll all just have to wait and find out.

Excellent parallel dimension travel story. The art is amazing to look at. I like how the characters are greyish; makes it hard to love or hate any of them.
