Green Lantern/Space Ghost Special (2017) #1 (DC Meets Hanna-Barbera) Kindle & comiXology

4.1 4.1 out of 5 stars 18 ratings

Trapped in a strange rift in time, Green Lantern and Space Ghost are forced to battle a variety of foes—and each other! And even if they manage to survive, they will be thrown into a world with no concept of interstellar travel—or even what an alien is! Stripped of their weapons by a xenophobic culture, the duo will have to battle to regain them—but what happens when Space Ghost dons the Emerald Ring and Hal Jordan put on the Power Bands?

And in the backup feature, Ruff and Reddy were once the toast of nightclubs, variety shows, late night chat fests and Broadway. Learn how they became the comedic duo of yesterday…before they hit rock-bottom today!

Christopher Sebela is a two-time Eisner nominated writer of creator-owned comics such as Shanghai Red, Crowded, House Amok, High Crimes, We(l)come Back, Heartthrob, Dead Letters and properties like Captain Marvel, Fantastic Four, Aliens vs. Predator, Escape from New York, Kiss/Vampirella and other stuff. Sadly he has also become fairly well known as the experiencer and chronicler of a month spent living in a clown motel. The less said about this, the better.

Amongst other things, he is a graphic designer, a smoker, queer, bearded, on brain medication, in deep want of an army of dogs and forever in search of caffeine. He was born in Chicago, lived in Kansas City and is currently residing in Portland, Oregon. He is not writing about himself in the third person, that would be weird. He's pretty sure he has you all totally fooled.

Best comic I've owned in years cannot recomend enough to those who love the original space ghost and fans of Green Lantern in general.

Enjoyed this comic! Two of my favorite characters together in one story!

Neat idea but the GL, SG story could have been so much more and the writers really didn't get either character right. If you want a good GL crossover try either of the GL, Star Trek crossover series. As far as SG goes if your not reading Future Quest you are truly missing out. I didn't care for Ruff and Reddy at all.

Weak story.
Corny.
I'm not understanding why even create this storyline, if no effort appeared to be made to make this story work.

A total hoot, teaming space cops Hal Jordan and Space Ghost to near-perfection. Tynion - rapidly becoming DC's go-to-guy for all occasions - new-to-DC Sebela capture the essence of both heroes and give them something fun to do. Plus Ariel Olivetti returns to Space Ghost for the first time since the nearly forgotten miniseries he did with Joe Kelly. Really a ton of fun.

The weird Ruff and Reddy backup is...well, Chaykin can still draw. But I didn't see the point. That's why I don't go to five stars
