Full content visible, double tap to read brief content.

Cullen grew up in rural North Carolina, but now lives in the St. Louis area with his wife Cindy and his son Jackson. His noir/horror comic (and first collaboration with Brian Hurtt), The Damned, was published in 2007 by Oni Press. The follow-up, The Damned: Prodigal Sons, was released in 2008. In addition to The Sixth Gun, his current projects include Crooked Hills, a middle reader horror prose series from Evileye Books; The Tooth, an original graphic novel from Oni Press; and various work for Marvel and DC. Somewhere along the way, Cullen founded Undaunted Press and edited the critically acclaimed small press horror magazine, Whispers from the Shattered Forum.

All writers must pay their dues, and Cullen has worked various odd jobs, including Alien Autopsy Specialist, Rodeo Clown, Professional Wrestler Manager, and Sasquatch Wrangler.

And, yes, he has fought for his life against mountain lions and he did perform on stage as the World's Youngest Hypnotist. Buy him a drink sometime, and he'll tell you all about it.

Exquisite collection, in-depth characters and an enriching immersive story.
5 Stars
Exquisite collection, in-depth characters and an enriching immersive story.
Dark horse makes beautiful “library editions” of long running comic adaptations that are all unique. They showcase artists and authors stories in a stunningly gorgeous oversized format that improves the overall stories of individual comic issues. Each breathtaking page is dripping in vibrant colors. This particular book, Harrow County, written by the brilliant Cullen Bunn and illustration by Tyler Crook brings this story to life. I often advocate for buying individual comic issues over graphic novelizations but in the case of Dark Horse and their library editions I prefer the latter.Horror comics are sometimes hit or miss but I enjoyed the first issue during it’s original run. This edition covers volumes one and two with extra snippets not in the trade paper backs(tpb). Harrow County’s original run was from May 2015 and concluded in June of 2018. The story is centered around a young woman named Emmy who upon her eighteenth birthday begins to discover how connected she is to the place she grew up in. As she discovers more about her past it begins to affect the present in ways she never imagined...In this edition Bunn describes the process of developing the characters and story with in-depth insights in to how he evolved his original concepts along with character sketches by Crooks. This access into their creative process is what separate library editions from tpb’s. Also included in this library edition are the original comic covers, notes and stories from the author to give a truly unique perspective to the world they created. This purchase far exceeded my expectations for a graphic novel and I highly recommend this purchase if you’re a fan of the comic, a fan of either the artist or author or new to the story of Harrow County altogether. With the library edition you will be adding a remarkable story worthy of your collection.

This is a review for the Library Edition that just came out, so I’m going to assume that if you’re here you are already a fan of this wonderful series and are curious if it is worth upgrading from the paperback trades. For my money, the answer is unquestionably yes. The watercolor artwork is breathtakingly beautiful and evocative on these oversized, high-quality pages, and the quality of production — from the binding or the dust cover on the outside to the sewn-in ribbon bookmark or the paper itself, within — is exceptional all around. It is rather undeniably the new best-looking book on my shelf.

I was pleasantly surprised at how much bonus/supplemental material was included, as well. There are roughly 30 pages of sketch work, 30 pages of written material, and about 10 pages each of additional art and bonus 'Tales From Harrow County' stories.

The obvious love with which this was put together has already got me excited for volume 2 in a few months, and with the final chapter of the story having been released eariler this year and the Library Editions releasing every few months here on out, this is a perfect time for new readers to get into the series.

I collected all the trade paperbacks and decided to double-dip and collect these beautiful, deluxe hardcover library editions - best decision ever.

These are great quality deluxe editions that contain some absolutely gorgeous watercolor artwork that can be fully appreciated in this glorious oversized format. The story is addictive and absolutely spellbinding; with a well-rounded, relatable and compelling female character helping us navigate our way through this magical world. This is southern gothic horror done right.

Go on, pick up this gorgeous hardcover and dive into the world of Harrow County, you won't want to leave.

This entire series is absolutely spectacular, made even cooler with a (soon to be) complete set of library editions adorning my shelf. I absolutely love this series, as I love just about everything that either one of these brilliant minds lay their hands on. Cullen Bunn & Tyler Crook are a damn near unbeatable duo when it comes to horror comics... if you're on the fence, just do it. Harrow County is one of the best horror stories told in decades.

I have not read the series, but I’ve only heard good things. I just bought all 4 library editions and giving a review on the quality of product.

The book came in good condition. The dust jacket is a very nice material and the oversized library edition really makes the art pop.

The binding is sewed to the spine, so no need to worried about gutter loss and chasing loose pages. From the looks of it, there is tons of bonus material in the back.

Looking forward to the read and very happy with the quality. Would recommend.
