When a nation is steeped in terror and the irredeemable one percent are dropping like flies…will John Constantine lift a finger? If so, which finger?
DCeased writer Tom Taylor teams with Darick Robertson, artist of Transmetropolitan and The Boys, for an all-new John Constantine story! A billionaire falls out of the sky and is gruesomely skewered on a church spire. Bizarrely, angel wings are attached to his back. More follow until, hallelujah, it’s raining businessmen. Detective Aisha Bukhari is stumped until she’s visited by her childhood friend, occult investigator John Constantine. John discovers a link between the falling elite and a shocking moment in his and Aisha’s misspent youth. How do these killings tie to the first death on John’s hands? How does this involve heaven and hell? Even if this is kind of John’s fault, will Constantine be happy to let a few more rich bastards fall from the sky, like a vindictive Robin Hood? Collects the acclaimed three-issue miniseries.

My favorite tied with damned and strange adventures as the best b.label I've read yet....able to get it used for new less than ten bucks, and wasn't expecting too much but it was good enough to surprise and bless me...one of the best I've read in a minute...had to order the two newer spurrier hellblazer volumes after that....an I read this new hellblazer is amazing and better than rise and fall...that's a tall order I'm excited to be turned on to

This was a fun Constantine story. Although I'm not sure why it needed to be Black Label.
The only issue I have is the artwork. It is TERRIBLE! Never use this artist on anything ever again. Please!

Great book, one review I read said one first novel that shows why DC Black label was made, I’d have to agree, end of story, but it read it like it’s.

I liked both the story line and art.

When DC announced Black Label as a replacement for the Vertigo line of comics I was excited. But it seems like Constantine has lost his way a bit, or at least DC's vision for the character has. This book is better than what you will find in the New 52 run, but falls short of the excellence the character has seen in the past.

The artwork is interesting and perhaps better than what we saw in the John Constantine Hellblazer (Sandman Universe) books which came out previously. It is a little more stylized but far from the worst this character has seen.

The story has an interesting premise but its use of Lucifer is perhaps the worst part of the story. The character is nothing like what you see in the Lucifer comics and the character doesn't add much value to this story. It would have been more fun to see the Mike Carrey version in this story and to see Constantine face off against him.

If you are like me and collect everything John Constantine, this book will be worth your while. But if you are a fan looking only for the best the character has to offer, I would go back and read the older stuff.

Nice hardcover with excellent paper and ink quality. Story is okay and the art is fair.

The main plot involves guilt but it is a much shallower tale than the incredibly good Sandman Universe John Constantine Hellblazer which is about as good as it gets since the old days.

We get a bit of young John and a major role for Lucifer himself. It really is nothing special but it isn't bad. It is a shame that the production quality of this book is so good while the actual comic is forgettable while the Sandman two volume trades mentioned above had mediocre paper, ink, size, and softcover while hitting hard on many levels.

If you want a fun John romp with a bit of devil snogging this is pretty decent. If you want a powerful "this is amazing!" comic than read the Sandman Universe comics for JC.

I'm a big nerd anyway, so I'm always going to be looking at comics, but I'm also a big fan of Darick Robertson, the artist.
This contains a Christmas/birthday present that my partner will never forgive him for, because it's unbeatable; it has a bid to me and my work! Amazing!

Well, that aside, it's a brilliant story (of course) and fabulous art (well, of course I'd say that!) and fully in keeping with what you'd expect from Constantine and Darick.
