Stan Lee is a man who needs no introduction. Nevertheless: Having begun his career with wartime Timely Comics and staying the course throughout the Atlas era, Stan the Man made comic-book history with Fantastic Four #1, harbinger of a bold new perspective in story writing that endures to this day. With some of the industry’s greatest artists, he introduced hero after hero in Incredible Hulk, Amazing Spider-Man, X-Men and more — forming a shared universe for rival publishers to measure themselves against. After an almost literal lifetime of writing and editing, Lee entered new entertainment fields and earned Marvel one opportunity after another. He remains one of Marvel’s best-known public representatives.

-----------------

Why isn't more people talking about Adam Austin art..it was incredible taking it was in an age where art was so limited. 1st by the society not taking a.comic artist seriously by the pay and by the comic code.Yes Gene Colan was great but Adams details compared to earlier artist was masterful. Finally In just a 49 year old man re reading comics I read as a boy.
To what point this lead to my career as a soldier and literature teacher? A lot
But what I really miss is the innocence
And the high morals or ethics we as a society had..gone but not forgotten

Kindle, you need to go back and re download the complete iron man masterworks volumes you have currently available
Numbers 1, 2, and 3
Not collect the individual issues then scan the masterworks cover and sell as a masterworks...it doesn't have the table of contents page or the introduction page and the issues are not in chronological order
Thanks

Volume 2 of the Iron Man Epics carries on exactly where volume 1 left off; we're still in the Tales of Suspense years, where Shellhead shared a book with Captain America and so each issue's story is just 11 pages long. However, Stan Lee and Gene Colan, who created the vast majority of the material here, knew exactly how to make best use of limited space.

In this book, the Golden Avenger deals with old foes like the Mandarin, the Melter, and Titanium Man, takes on other villains such as the malevolent Mole Man and the Grey Gargoyle, and finds time to make a few new enemies like the wicked Whiplash. In between, he deals with his feelings for secretary Pepper Potts and a dogged senator that will stop at nothing to see Iron Man unmasked and his secrets shared with the US government.

The big draw for this particular volume is the glorious, classic artwork of Gene 'the Dean' Colan. Wonderfully full of energy and with an amazing eye for extreme poses and panel layout, Colan was one of Marvel's truly great artists, and this is some of his best work. His run on the character ended, as does this volume, with the first issue of Tony's solo series, and it's a great way to cap this series of stories.

Extras include Jack Kirby T-shirt art, a spoof story from Not Brand Echh, original Colan art pages and the covers to the first three Iron Man Masterworks. Well worth picking up, even for people who aren't the world's biggest Iron Fans.

At the time I was not a mega fan of this Iron Man period but this volume has surprised me and I have enjoyed many of the tales of battles with the Mandarin (why doesn't he turn up any more) and Titanium Man and the Melter and many others. Not perhaps as daft as the first volume (no more tales from Mr Doll and the old Dr Strange) but this is a great volume. The art and reconstruction is first rate with some great extras.

This is probably the best of all the Epic Collections that I have had so far.
Its got some fantastic early Iron Man stories finishing off his run with the title he shared with Captain America and leading to his own title, featuring great stories from Stan Lee and Archie Goodwin and stunning artwork from Gene Golan.
Cannot recommend highly enough
