Creased cover and pages!

Creased cover and pages!
paid 25 bucks thinking I was gonna get a brand new comic, but it came with a creased cover and page folded like a flap. The spine had the cover peeling off the first 3 to 5 pages. There's also a slit/scratch in the back cover.

Although Marvel Zombies strayed from the good formula of Marvel Zombies 1 & 2, Marvel Zombies 3, 4 & 5 take us in an entirely different direction as Machine Man (who was an unknown until this Z-lister kicked zombie butt) fights in various dimensions to take down the zombie threat. So... let's see... you have Machine Man, Marvel superheroes, zombies... and Howard the Duck...? You need to pick this up. After all... it's Howard the Duck fighting zombies. In case you're unaware, Howard the Duck is the most perverted and disturbing comic book character in the Marvel universe. He even had his own movie.

the ending sucked but the series was great

Well it's not often you get to see Howard the Duck in action in modern comics, but he is a smart choice in this series. Book 5 of the Marvel Zombies installment contains multiple panels of dry scientific information and Howard helps to lighten up the series with his witty comments. Unlike Marvel Zombies 1 this book does not explore the typical Marvel characters and universe one is used to. Instead it reaches deeper into the tomes of Marvel and digs out lesser known characters and this book provides a great opportunity to see them in tough situations in a decaying universe. Although this volume is nowhere near the greatest of comics, it is a solid buy if not for the artwork alone.

Give Howard the duck a gun and watch him shoot zombies and hes a pretty crazy bird. Pretty good follow up to all its predecessors.

The fifth installment of the Marvel Zombies series has Morbius, the living vampire still trying to find a definite cure for the zombie plague and learns that a planestorm is coming and will merge several zombie-infected universes with ours for a brief time. So, he sends Machine Man and the ever fowl Howard the Duck to collect 5 different zombie blood samples; one from each dimension. The first dimension is a wild west world where the zombies, called "Romeros," are found to rise from their graves due to an alien gas cloud that is plaguing the small town. Machine Man and Howard venture in and pick up a sidekick named Jacali Kane, to bring with their while they're dimension-hopping. Their second stop brings them to a world where the movie War of the Worlds is a real-life occurrence and the zombies are created by using the previous universe's virus to infect those of this world, thus creating a new species of zombie. So, after collecting that sample (and getting Machine Man a new body), the team heads off into Earth-555; a land of knights and kings and slaying things. As the Black Knight encounters an evil book granting him power beyond comprehension, it lets loose a zombie plague and, once again, our team gets right into the middle of it to stop the plague and gather a sample. The next universe is a futuristic one where Jocasta, Machine Man's ex, resides and has a high position of power. She uses this new-found power to infect the humans of this world into eating one another so machines can rule the Earth. Machine Man disapproves and has to fight her boss, Iron Man 2020. However, after gathering one more sample, the team barely makes it out alive and finds themselves in a more calm, normal universe. A universe where one unsuspecting geek contracts the zombie virus and makes the final mission for the team an easy one. However, will all their work turn into a cure for the zombie plague?

So, this is the last numbered story arc for Zombies as of today; and it was a bit disappointing. Seeing each universe was fairly cool but nothing that really wowed me. Iron Man 2020 was really cool to see and the final issue, showing a typical Marvel nerd contracting the virus and his comical reactions to it was neat but other than that, it wasn't as gory as some of the other titles and the dialogue was pretty good but very campy nonetheless. This could've been better and on top of everything, it leaves off on a big cliffhanger. Hopefully Marvel Zombies Supreme and Returns will outdo this one by a mile.

So I was really hoping this to be good, I've always been a big fan of marvel zomibes since I read about them in the ultimate fantastic 4 universe but this, It just sucks on so many levels. It doesnt feel like they put too much time into it, like they were trying to rush it out there as fast as they could. This is prime example of a series not caring about story telling anymore and just money to make by getting its comic out there, the writing is terrible except for the 5th story, its pretty ok but not worth reading through the other 4 terrible stories. I only bought this thinking it would have the same quality of the other Marvels zombies that have come out and even though none of them have been as good as the first one they have been good and held their own. whoever wrote this decided to make machine man just do a 180 and change his character just for the sake of throwing in their own lame jokes, everything falls short, very short and they try to get browie points for naming different zombie film makers throught the stories which again this comic has just jumped the shark and fell right in its mouth. Either get new writers or stop the series, which I would hate to see, it has so much potenial to be something great, I dont mind humor, in fact I love humor, but these jokes were written by that guy you sat with in class who laughed at his own jokes and pissed you off because there was someone alive this dumb and thought they were so funny, that guy wrote this book. Dont get it if you want story, go ahead and buy it if you need to collect each volume, but this book has taught me its Quality, not Quantity. Or however you spell just know bottom line this sucks. save your 18$

Big fan of the series. I thought the story was good and I love howard the duck is awesome. But I didn't like the art in a lot of the pages. There are times where it's just radically different and really screws up the pacing of the story. And some of the art had issues drawing howard the duck and made him just too awkward to look at. He looks fantastic in the last few pages but still doesn't really make up for the previous art.

again, great story. art is not so great compared to previous marvel zombies.

2.0 out of 5 stars Marvel Zombies 5 Suck..
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on June 8, 2012
Having read all the issues of Marvel Zombies, i was extremely dissapointed with this one.I felt like i was reading a mish mash of short stories that never had a begining and each story ended far too quickly. The caractors were boring and never im my eyes should never had been part of the Marvel Universe. There are hundreds of great super human caractors that never showed up in previous MZ's and felt any of those would had been more exciting to look at rather than a duck. Please!!!!!!!. Even the last lot of charactors in MZ 4 didnt have any part in this issue which was a shame.
I wish they had kept to the original concept by using previous charactors and maybe extending those stories further rather then ending it all in volume 3, as they were funny and entertaining. Issue 4 got slighty boring, issue 5 made me not want to carry on reading and spoil my whole illusion of Marvel Zombie world..Shame..!!!

So overall, is it worth buying? To complete your collection then the answer is a simple yes. However if your not bothered about completing your collection, then a big fat no is the answer..
