Collects Marvel Zombies: Dead Days; Ultimate Fantastic Four #21-23, #30-32; And Black Panther (2005) #28-30.

At last – experience the birth of the Marvel Zombies as told by the creative team of the best-selling limited series, and then witness their rise as they attempt to slake their hunger across two universes! First, Robert Kirkman and Sean Phillips pull out all the stops as they reveal the secret story of the day the Marvel Heroes became brain-eating monsters! Next, follow the Marvel Zombies into the pages of Mark Millar and Greg Land's ULTIMATE FANTASTIC FOUR! Reed Richards has used his scientific genius to contact an Earth in a surprisingly familiar parallel dimension – and he's ready to visit! But nothing could have prepared him for the world he's about to enter! Finally, get out the hot sauce, True Believer – it's slobberin' time! In Reginald Hudlin and Francis Portela's Black Panther, the mainstream Marvel Universe's New Fantastic Four just made a wrong turn on the dimensional super highway – and they've landed in the middle of Zombie-verse! And if that weren't bad enough, they've parked their butts on that universe's Skrull Planet!

First and foremost a comic creator, Kirkman has seen groundbreaking success in the adaptation of his comic book titles into major franchises in all forms of content. In 2010, his Eisner award winning series, The Walking Dead, was developed into an AMC television series. It has become a worldwide phenomenon as the highest-rated basic cable drama of all time and is the #1 show on television among the coveted 18-49 demo. The property has also been extended into a blockbuster game franchise, licensing business and ongoing publishing success.

Kirkman also serves as consulting producer of The Talking Dead, the popular talk show hosted by Chris Hardwick that deep dives into each week’s episode of both The Walking Dead and its companion series Fear the Walking Dead. Kirkman is co-creator, writer and producer of The Walking Dead’s companion series, Fear the Walking Dead.

He is also executive producer of the AMC series Robert Kirkman’s Secret History of Comics, and the Korean pre-apocalyptic drama, Five Year. Kirkman’s popular demonic-exorcism comic, Outcast, was adapted, produced and airs on Cinemax.

For the big screen, Kirkman will produce Invincible based on his long-running popular comic book. The project will be written, directed and produced by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg for Universal Pictures. Other credits include AIR featuring Norman Reedus and Academy Award nominee, Djimon Hounsou.

Additional Kirkman comics include Super Dinosaur, Battle Pope, Astounding Wolf-Man, and Thief of Thieves.

Robert is also the Chairman of Skybound Entertainment. Robert, an advocate for creator rights, co-founded Skybound alongside his longtime business and producing partner David Alpert in an effort to ensure creators are able to maintain their intellectual property rights and creative control.

this book is just amazing the art the story lines. if you wanted to you could read the first book of marvel zombies vs army of darkness and the first page of the second out of the same book and have a good start to the story making it even better marvel zombies vs army of darkness shows more of how the zombie virues spreads and how spider man got infected and you can read from there to this book and its great as well. but this book is a must get its got 272 pages of none stop thrills and action.

I bought this a Christmas present for my son-in-law. He loves comics and was looking to rebuild a collection he lost. He also is a big fan of zombies and anything zombie related, so I assumed this would be perfect for him. I bought 3 of them for him so he could read a large portion of the story and he seems to enjoy them. Haven't read them myself, but he approves of them.

Overall, this book sums up everything including how the virus came to earth. You should read this before the second one

This wonderful trade paperback covers the Dead Days one-shot plus the zombies' appearances in the Ultimate Fantastic Four issues #21-23 and #30-32 along with their appearances in the Black Panther #28-30. This book basically tells what happens before the Marvel Zombies series and gives a very good backstory to it all. The one-shot Dead Days is the first in the book. It tells of the last survivors in the zombie universe and how Magneto helped everyone to fight off the super-powered monsters until they were seemingly over-run. It also sets up the Fantastic Four issues as well showing the zombified Fantastic Four trying to make their way to another universe full of fleshy morsels.

The Fantastic Four issues show how the zombified Fantastic Four trick the Ultimate Reed into heading to the zombie universe and having him saved by the rest of the Ultimate Four crew and, in doing so, trap the Zombie Four into the Ultimate universe where all hell breaks loose as the Zombie Four cause havoc even though they're "contained." Things are not made easier by Doctor Doom when he inflicts Johnny with a deadly Earth-threatening parasite and requires a mind-swap with Richards in order to stop it and ultimately, to save the world not only from the parasite, but from possible zombie take-over!

Next up is the Black Panther issues which basically continue from where the Marvel Zombies 1 TPB left off. A group of superhero zombies that include Iron Man, Wolverine, Giant Man, Spider-Man, and others, have obtained the power cosmic from Galactus and are using it to devour worlds and find themselves at the Skrulls' home planet; along with the Black Panther, Storm, The Thing, and the Human Torch! When the zombies devour most of the planet's population and decide to make the planet itself implode, the team of non-infected super heroes must find a way to get off the doomed rock-of-a-planet and escape the impending doom that the cosmic zombies are inflicting!

This TPB is fantastic and goes hand-in-hand with the other Marvel Zombies TPBs. The artwork is gory and fantastic and the writing (especially the bickering between Iron Man and Luke Cage) is very well done and enjoyable all the way through. The zombies' dialogue is written in a unique way that really fits the story and will make you laugh as well. I enjoyed reading this all the way through and will definitely be picking up Marvel Zombies 2 to see how this all plays out!

the description makes this out to be the back story to Marvel Zombies that you miss if you only read the Compiled series Volume 1. so I ordered this and the complete series #1. read this first then opened up the #1 series and found this exact same thing in it.
A great fun story line to read, but this was a serious waste of my money, and the complete series #1, puts all the different stories in order.

Marvel does it again with this graphic novel. While I would not pay the retail price at a store, it is worth reading and can be found at little cost on amazon.

A very nice comic. Again a bit damage. Why not give a customer the choice to pay a bit extra for strong packaging?
