Editorial Reviews
Review
"Hanselmann is creating some of the best comics around, and Megg & Mogg in Amsterdam is a must-read for anyone interested in something more than excessive punching." - Under the Radar
"Although it's full of drug-based cruel humor, Hanselmann's vision of three roommates--a witch, her boyfriend cat and an uptight owl the pair torment--moves beyond shallow 420 jokes to something more like a bildungsroman. The author captures the window of being young and stupid, only capable of escaping from one's head through drug use." - Paste
"Hanselmann's painting and layout style has always been striking, but the flow, color, and composition in Megg and Mogg in Amsterdam showcase an outstanding progression from Hanselmann's previous work." - The Portland Mercury
"Megg & Mogg in Amsterdam doesn't talk down to you. It gives you one of the oddest, most powerful reassurances of all: It tells you you're not alone in your misery." - New York Magazine: Vulture

As a middle manager, I identify with so many characters in this book and it taught me so many important leadership skills to motivate my employees.
I heard about this book from my main news outlet, Smut Cave. I feel like the author is qualified to be the President of the USA. Requirements are super loosey goosey these days, so I recommend giving it a shot. The worst they can say is no, right?
Anyway, see you at the top player.
Despite those issues though, what makes this book great, is that the stories are extremely funny - some of the funniest "adult" comics I've read. Sometimes even just the simply drawn character's expressions could really crack me up. In fact, the character design throughout the comics is excellent. These are the stories of three stoner outcasts stuck on a couch taken to the most extreme levels possible. And while the set-ups seem limited - character's get high and are mean to each other and hate each other and hate themselves is basically all that happens across the many short stories in this collection - it's a humor that somehow never gets stale even after 160 very similar pages. It's a bit of a mystery why Simon Hanselmann's comics are so much more enjoyable than most other new comics I come across these days, and I do highly recommend them for those who are unoffendable.
