New Mutants by Zeb Wells: The Complete Collection (New Mutants (2009-2011)) Kindle & comiXology
Cannonball, Dani Moonstar, Karma, Sunspot, Magma and Magik have put the band back together — just don't call them the New Mutants! They might not live to be old mutants, either, when one of the most powerful threats they ever faced returns: Legion! Speaking of comebacks, the dead just won't stay that way as the shocking events of Necrosha hit home — and Doug Ramsey and Warlock return! As the New Mutants struggle to rediscover the strong bond they shared as teenagers, a new enemy arrives to tear them apart! The team's past returns to haunt them as they're dragged into the hellish dimension of Limbo, but will the secret they uncover there lead to the fall of the New Mutants?

This book has the most uncharacteristic version of the New Mutants, by a long shot. Witness Roberto lose all of his character development and personality to be reduced to someone who teasingly sexually harasses his team members. Read on as every woman member gets sadistically beaten and tortured and yes exclusively them! We see some art that is great in this book, but a lot of odd skin lightening to the point he looks white of Roberto (the character whose first arc in comics was being racially persecuted for his dark skin in Brazil).
This book continues with the worst written scenes I've ever read of Emma Frost. All coming back to how much they brush over members like Karma, but somehow make Cannonball dislikable as a team leader.
Lots of The New Mutants are forced to retaliate against the violent and sadistic foes of this book and in the end become outdated and edgy versions of themselves. I'm shocked to see so many people praise this book on Amazon, given how when New Mutants went edgy in the 90s as X-Force it was way better and deeper than this! Which to some is a low bar.
This book's interviews in the back are the best part! Lots of great bonus content with interviews with Wells and original creators Claremont and McLeod. The Wells interviews all claim that this book is a return to form and bringing back the New Mutants for everything you want; I would say that is the furthest thing from the truth.
