This story gives more depth to part 1. It explains why Dorothy was the chosen one, why she could defeat the evil witches and the powers that exist in Oz. Of course, the plot line twists and this epic tale draws you in. The secondary characters (Lion, Scarecrow and Tin Man) all have their shining moments showing their importance in this realm to rebuild and defeat this evil or help it.
It's Zenescope so not everything is as it seems and you're instantly drawn into this epic tale. I liked the Wizard of Oz, the original story, but was never a die hard fan. This Zenescope revision gives it a very Lord of the Rings/epic fantasy vibe with large battles and the balance and draw of magic for good and evil. I highly recommend it!

Oz is in trouble again. A seemingly unstoppable armoured warrior known as the Warlord is destroying villages and tribes all along Oz, but what does he really want? Back on earth Dorothy has been having disturbing dreams of herself returning to Oz but this time not as a saviour, or a ruler but as a destroyer. What will happen when she actually does return to Oz.
In this story we do learn Dorothy's heritage, but for me I was left with more questions than answers. These will have to wait till part 3 of the trilogy. The is a bit of a preview in the second volume of the tales of Oz. This is an enjoyable sequel, I just would have preferred if it was extended and slowed down, a book leaving me wanting more is probobly an endorsement on it own.
