Rayven works on her case with former cop turned bail bondsmen, Dorian Glover, and former Marine turned bounty hunter, Cassius Malone. Dorian uses his Washington connections to try to break the cold case that even his father couldn’t solve. Rayven ends up on a hunt with Cassius where she instinctively saves his life. All three of them work together to piece together evidence to solve the case but the closer they get to uncovering the bad guys, the closer the bad guys get to Rayven.

About the Author

Shequeta L. Smith is a Salisbury, North Carolina native and alumna of North Carolina State University. In 2016, Smith launched Shero Comics, a multimedia company that builds comic book, film, and gaming IPs that feature women and girls of color as the main protagonists. In 2019, she was selected by Ron Howard and Brian Grazer for their screenwriting incubator "Imagine Impact." Most recently, Smith was selected for Goldman Sachs' One Million Black Women Initiative and the JLH Social Impact Fund. In 2024, Smith will launch a gaming division, "Shero Games" that will adapt her female-led comics into games.

Shequeta Smith is a filmmaker and book author with multiple projects under her belt. Since 2008, she has been busy writing and directing short films, writing, and creating comics, and writing award-winning screenplays that usually feature diverse women and girls. Four years ago, Shequeta founded Shero Comics, a multimedia company that focuses on minority women in comics, films, and gaming - with the mission to help women and girls uncover their superpowers. In 2019, the company partnered with Westfield Corporation and launched the only all-female comic convention in America, SheroCon, which made history as the first comic-con to ever take place inside of a Westfield property.

It is sad to see the twists be similar to how I expected but I am really enjoying the realism of the effects traumas have on people and their need to change things. I actually enjoyed this one even if it was predictable. Rayven is growing but in a different way to expected so will be very interested in seeing where the story goes from here.
