Matthew Rosenberg is the award-winning, powerfully handsome, shockingly clever, and painfully modest writer of comics such as What's The Furthest Place From Here?, 4 Kids Walk Into a Bank, and We Can Never Go Home. He has also written a lot of comics about angry people in tights, such as Uncanny X-Men, The Punisher, Hawkeye Freefall, DC vs. Vampires, Task Force Z, and The Joker. Weirdly, he once co-wrote an album with a member of the Wu-Tang Clan. He was born and raised in New York City, where he can still not be seen.

Fun read.

You'd think something would be salvageable from the trainwreck that was Secret Wars, but this book is proof of the opposite. Everything's mess, and the characters are SO BORING. The writer even botched Moon Girl, and wrote her as a brute instead intelligent. Quake is one note, Inferno is just there, Karnak is written like he can't go near children, Ms Marvel just does rude stuff for no reason. Everything from the plot and beyond, is bland and boring.

👎👎 This is awful. WTF, Marvel?

I really wanted to love this, I love the characters. However once again Marvel had to make the xmen antagonist once again. Also giving the Inhumans the basic essence of what makes the xmen, feels contrived and inorganic.

Secret Wars starts off right in the middle of Marvel's latest event, Secret Empire. Captain America has taken over the US, and rounding up all the inhumans into camps. Fortunately, ex-SHIELD agent Daisy 'Quake' Johnson, Ms. Marvel, Moon Girl, Devil Dinosaur, and Inferno are still free, and out to stop the government's reign of terror. Later joined by Karnak, Inhuman's Team Six is off to find an inhuman who might be able to help them.

The first two issues start off OK, though not without flaws. Ms. Marvel's characterization seems off, but you could excuse it as the whole 'being hunted by HYDRA' throwing off her game. And I've never though Moon Girl works well outside her own title (or in it for that matter). But the action and banter are all generally good, as is the artwork. However, issue three has some major issues. The warriors run into the X-men who don't exactly have the best relationship with the Inhumans. Quake pulls some straight-up supervillain moves that make the team really hard to route for.

That said, I'm cautiously hopeful that once Secret Empire is over and the writer has more creative control, the title will be better.

The most fun new team book Marvel has put out in years. Quake, Ms. Marvel, Inferno, Moon Girl, and Karnak form the heart of this dysfunctional adventure which has great guest appearances (X-Men!), crazy action, gorgeous art, and some really funny moments. One of my favorite books at Marvel in a long, long time. And Quake is amazing.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good read

I like this story and the comic. Definitly a worthy read but I need to agree with the other Assessment. Daisy makes a few unusual decisions when you're one the good side. But when you're hunted and try to help those that are imprisoned then you need to make these decisions. Some are not pretty but in this case neccesary.

All in all I really like this one!

2.0 out of 5 stars It's Interesting

So... that time Cap was Hydra was not a fun time in the Marvel comic universe. I was glad to hear of the Secret Warriors team forming to stand against him. Hey, it even had a few of my favourite characters in it, so it had to be worth the read. Well, I've read it and it was.... interesting. I'm not actually sure if I liked a lot of it, but there were parts I did enjoy.

This is a pick up if cheap, otherwise... Get an opinion you trust. I'm still thinking on it.
