Jason Hall is the writer/co-creator of the critically-acclaimed PISTOLWHIP series of books (originally published by Top Shelf and soon to be collected in a new full-color hardcover edition by Dark Horse). Back in his more reckless college years, he also wrote/directed a short movie where he played "Jack Peril" (the Pistolwhip series character's first appearance) and actually rode on top of and was hit by a speeding car!

For DC, he wrote the Vertigo miniseries Beware The Creeper, the creator-owned Vertigo series Trigger, and has contributed to Batman Adventures, Justice League Adventures, Justice League Unlimited, Ben 10, Samurai Jack, Dexter's Lab, Superman, and Detective Comics. For Dark Horse, he co-authored the Hellboy Companion, wrote a Hellboy Animated graphic novel, multiple stories for Star Wars Tales and Clone Wars Adventures, The Amazing Adventures of the Escapist, The Messengers adaptation, and created/wrote the Rocket Comics series Crush. He has been nominated for two Harvey Awards and his work has been translated into Italian, French, German, Portuguese, Chinese, and Filipino.

Jason hates, with the white-hot intensity of a thousand suns, when people refer to themselves in the third person.

Though it is Star Wars, having one book in three pieces is a downer.

I gave this rating because this is a collections of stories that let you know what happen in the star wars universe that was not said in the movies. Some of the stories are funny, serious, fill in a lot of gaps, and relationships between the characters. I like comics books because you can see the characters, the planets, and you can get a real feel for the story and I love the art work.

This book is for young and old and all star wars fans.

It has tales, and they are from Star Wars. For the penny a page I got them on sale I'm satisfied. They're not exactly chronologically in order, (Tales 2 has a prequel C3PO to Tales 1's intro for example, but go ahead and get the first one. If you like it, get the next - lather rinse repeat until you've had enough. All in all, not a bad way to spend a flight.

These are not as good as the best of modern graphic novels, not in terms of artwork or writing, but nostalgia can make up for a lot.

This is an issue with the book itself or the condition of which it might have been stored. The binding is not set very well and the pages come loose. I read each edition I ordered (I ordered all six volumes) and in almost each on pages were coming loose after only one reading. If you want to read this in anything other than ideal conditions then don't expect it to last very long.

very poorly made, but the stories are awesome.i couldnt get through the first chapter without it falling apart, otherwise i woulda gave it a 5 star rating.probably would have been better off waiting for it to be in an omnibus form

The quality is still there. Especially with the'Trooper' story. An absolute classic. That said, there is a whole load of'filler' material here. The final tale (the duty) is a bit deep and dark too! Great, but not essential.
