Jim Rugg is an Eisner and Ignatz Award-winning cartoonist based in Pittsburgh. His books include STREET ANGEL, The PLAIN Janes, The Guild, Afrodisiac, and Notebook Drawings.

Rugg and Maruca do it again! Of course, I’m starting to question whether Maruca actually exists due to a couple of well hidden Easter eggs. Regardless, Jesse Sanchez, the greatest skate boarding ninja on the planet doesn’t get to do much butt-kicking this go around due to the fact that a rat stole her lunch and she spends most of the time looking for food. Even when she finds a power ring that gives one of her friends amazing super powers, Jesse is less than interested because she really just wants to find some food. I won’t give away the ending, but it does make you feel a little twinge of pity for the princess of poverty and her difficult to quench hunger. If only there were some gang tryouts with snacks she could crash, but, alas, that is a story for another book.

Absolutely LOVE the adventures of comic book heroine STREET ANGEL. "Super Hero for a Day" is one of my favorites in the series. Great job Jim Rugg!
