'Bunn and Johnston's knowledge and passion about the history of these characters is obvious and should guarantee an explosive showdown next time.' (AiPT!)

'I think we have a lot of potential here and I have complete faith in Cullen Bunn's ability to write excellent horror. So make sure you pick up a copy of Subspecies from your local comic shop!' (The Pop Break)

Cullen grew up in rural North Carolina, but now lives in the St. Louis area with his wife Cindy and his son Jackson. His noir/horror comic (and first collaboration with Brian Hurtt), The Damned, was published in 2007 by Oni Press. The follow-up, The Damned: Prodigal Sons, was released in 2008. In addition to The Sixth Gun, his current projects include Crooked Hills, a middle reader horror prose series from Evileye Books; The Tooth, an original graphic novel from Oni Press; and various work for Marvel and DC. Somewhere along the way, Cullen founded Undaunted Press and edited the critically acclaimed small press horror magazine, Whispers from the Shattered Forum.

All writers must pay their dues, and Cullen has worked various odd jobs, including Alien Autopsy Specialist, Rodeo Clown, Professional Wrestler Manager, and Sasquatch Wrangler.

And, yes, he has fought for his life against mountain lions and he did perform on stage as the World's Youngest Hypnotist. Buy him a drink sometime, and he'll tell you all about it.

I've been waiting for a sequel to the last Subspecies movie. I was not disappointed at all by this comic book and look forward to the next volume.

This is the first three issues of the comic series in one book. The story was well done and I rather liked how they resurrected Radu from his demise in Subspecies 4. This takes place ten years after the last film. The comic does a pretty good job at catching the reader up if they had not seen any of the films. Subspecies is my favorite vampire franchise, so I was happy to have a new adventure. The ending to this book has a really great twist that makes me eager to see a volume 2 made.

The only reason I knocked off a star was Michelle. I felt the drawings did not resemble the character. Other than that I loved the book and the story. If you enjoyed this then you might want to check out the other full moon titles from action labs.

I wasn't sure I'd like this, especially since it has an odd concept and takes as canon the so-so Subspecies 4, but I was pleasantly surprised. I hope there are more books. I'm into this comic and I've missed these characters.

A really good sequel to a minor film series. I'd like to see what else they would do with it.
