Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay (the movie) is one of my favorite entries into the DC animated line. It's original, unpredictable, and thematically consistent, something direct-to-consumer movies often aren't. So, Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay (this comic) had plenty it had to live up to, and it did it all fairly well.
Without any spoilers, the comic picks up shortly after the movie ends. The surviving members all make appearances, very true to form, and several newcomers come along as well; the comic isn't a terribly long one, even as what was a twelve-issue run, so there isn't as much depth to the new guys as the movie gave the others, but they're fleshed out well enough to make it all work. The plot also included the supernatural side of DC in interesting ways, although one character automatically means this can't actually be canon to the DC Animated Movies, due to the events of Justice League Dark. Still, the plot moves around at a good pace, locations are varied, and there's enough fun to be had.
I do have some issues that keep this comic from being at the same tier as the movie it's spinning off of, though. The movie stands apart as a hard-R rating, and uses it to the full degree of freedom that allows. The comic, though does feel firmly PG-13. The violence isn't as hard-hitting, and despite the Squad being assembled out of mostly lower-tier additions than last time, there is a much lower mortality rate than before. Also, while the plot certainly is not meaningless, it doesn't establish new or unfamiliar ground where it ends, so don't go in expecting a high-impact conclusion.
All in all, the comic sets up interesting situations, further on from the movie, with art and dialogue serving to be more than sufficient for a good story, so if you like the movie, this one is worth looking into.

It's an aftermath story of the Sucide Squad: Hell to Pay animated film. Has pretty good moments in it and a decent amount of action. Definitely worth looking into especially if you want to experience the entire DCAMU

The events of Hell To Pay were ripe for a sequel, but where they went with it wasn't IMHO as interesting as any of the places that I thought they might take it. Combine this with mediocre art and there just wasn't much recommend about it.

The comic continues where the film ended, and brings back the surviving members of the previous film with a new suicide squad. It delves further into the supernatural side of the DC universe much like Justice League Dark so anyone who enjoys those characters will be happy with this. Amanda Waller is also the protagonist and she actually fights alongside the squad so it's fun to see her do more than just order the squad around and threaten to kill them.
