I am so glad DC finally got around to publishing this fine first collection of Jerry Ordway's Power of Shazam. Been waiting for this awhile actually. The binding appears to be stitched and opens nicely. The printing is vibrant retaining it's original Glenn Whitmore coloring along with Ordway's, Krause and Manley's crisp, clear line work.
What you get here is the original Power of Shazam graphic novel, the Power of Shazam 1-12 & "The Scarab Necklace" short story from Superman & Batman magazine #4 reprinted here for the first time and bonus material such as promotional poster art, notes for the original Power of Shazam graphic novel and a all new introduction written by Jerry Ordway.
The stories here maintain a fine balance between light and dark. Read the secret origins of the Marvel Family, Black Adam & yes, even Mr. Tawny the talking tiger. Incredibly fun reading hard to put down. Thank you Mr. Ordway & Co. And thank you DC. Looking forward to volume 2 coming out next April.
