The Story: So Trillium begins and we find ourselves in the future (3797) with Essie, a virus called the Caul has been hunting humanity across the Universe and the four thousand surviving humans are now on Crius, and the remaining inhabitable planets are few. They are growing desperate to find a way to fight the virus and survive as a species. They are reliant on a plant that may yield a vaccine, something cultivated by a local tribe called the Atabithi. Essie is desperate to help her own species but also not to do any harm to the Atabithi. She finds herself face to face with the tribe and a bit of mystery. Then, we meet William, in a very different time (1920). He is haunted by the war, intrigued and driven by an exhibition to the Amazon in search of an Incan temple rumored to contain power over life and death. I won't give anymore away only that this first issue is the beginning of their story and I am looking forward to more.
The Art: Those who are familiar with Lemire and his series Sweet Tooth will find the art quite familiar. It's often times non-descript, sometimes the facial expressions are blurred, others grossly exaggerated, this is the style I've become familiar with being a fan of Sweet Tooth. Award winning artwork? Probably not. Lemire's style is unique and his story-telling is purposeful. I liked Trillium and look forward to more.
The Kindle Fire edition was fine, I had no issues reading it and it has the double tap feature for enlarging panels. I read this on the Kindle Fire HD 8.9.

Format: Kindle Edition
It's the year 3797, and botanist Nika Temsmith is researching a strange species on a remote science station near the outermost rim of colonized space. It's the year 1921, and renowned English explorer William Pike leads an expedition into the dense jungles of Peru in search of the fabled "Lost Temple of the Incas," an elusive sanctuary said to have strange healing properties. Can it be that these two disparate souls, separated by thousands of years and hundreds of millions of miles, will somehow fall in love?

How customer reviews and ratings work
Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

Just started with the comics and really enjoyed this one. I have the kindle version... I don't like zooming in and out that much.
