I have followed this story with Comics Explained, but to read it for myself, it was a dope experience. Adam Brasheir is a powerhouse. America Chavez is amazing and Monica is super Fly. Loved the story.

My opinion of Marvel's Civil War II is rather divided and deserves its own review, so I won't go into too much detail here. Just know that Al Ewing used the event in the best way he could to propel his series forward, even as it reached its end. The story would continue immediately after in Ultimates 2 (2017), making one question the point of even ending in the first place other than mirroring Mark Millar's original two series run though all said it doesn't matter. Event tie-ins are often times treated as a hassle by most writers nowadays and it shows in their work but Ewing is an expert when it comes to them. Just look at his work on Loki: Agent of Asgard (2014). Brian Bendis' work with Captain Marvel's side of the war in the main event left something to be desired but leave it to Ewing to give her some solid ground to stand on. He also utilizes Thanos to a much greater effect. The character is such a great villain, which most writers fail to portray, but Ewing's work with him is top tier. Kenneth Racofort and Christian Ward return as artists from Vol. 1, managing to give the book a unique look, plus Djibril Morissette who helps out around the middle of the collection. In all it was so great rereading this volume years later. It's a great collection, and one that deserves a reading.

After the events of End Times, Time Runs Out, and Secret Wars, Marvel is now on their All New All Different series. The Ultimates series provides, in my opinion, the only current storyline of Marvel Comics for people who are still interested in stories from Earth 616 characters and cosmic entities as they were before those series of events. Don't get me wrong, there are some new characters but with appearances from Black Panther, Carol Danvers, Tony Stark, and War Machine there are a lot more familiar faces in this series than most of the rest of the Marvel Comic Universe combined (aside from the Civil War II story arc). This review may seem a bit generic and could possibly be suitable for volume 1 of this series also but it's only because I'm refraining from dropping spoilers. If you're a longtime Marvel fan who appreciates the cosmic aspect of the Marvel comic universe look no further, this series is for you.

Marvel New cosmic crusaders are strong smart and up for the infinite tasks ahead of them. I devoured the first two volumes and can't wait for more. I never much cared for the marvel cosmic mythos but reading the Ultimates is a wonderfully fresh take.

Trying to make this fit in with the event did not work so well. Seemed more to be about a tie in to sell another issue.

Nice resolution to the Carol and America problem. Love Monica and Adam together. They need their own book love this

The Ultimates volume two is a strange mix of the extreme science problem solving the book was sold to me on and dealing with civil war 2. I mean its not totally unreasonable i suppose, Carol Danvers is one of the key characters in that story, and shes a member of the Ultimates. That part of the book is basically carol using the team to prove her agenda of using future sight to prevent bad things from happening. A chunk fo the team dont care for being used, and the rest of the book is basically watching the team tear itself apart as each member has their own idea of that the team was. I dinged the book a star because apparently off panel Black Panther did something terrible to Carol there finally destroyed the team. I think this actually happened in the civil war 2 miniseries, but i really think it should have been included here. So if you haven't read that before you read this volume, you have to guess what horrible thing he did to Carol. That kind of bugged me, and was a black mark on an otherwise really good story.

Mientras el volumen 1,estuvo increíble, este pasa a ser mediocre con el fin de darle seguimiento a la historia de Civil War 2.

Mediocre at best. Disappointing. Tries to be high thinking comic, but comes across as nonsensical, rushed and trying too hard. The art is cluuttered, inconsistent and confusing. The whole galactus birth defect plot was ridiculous, he looks stupid in yellow and spraying sunshine rather than eating planets and people. Thanos was too easily dealt with, Not the best marvel has put out.
