Back in issue #5 Cyclops sent a team into the artificial environment of the Vault to gather intelligence on its children, and no one has heard from them since. Now over a year later Hickman revisits this dangling story thread. Though nothing exceptional this comic is an interesting one. Not a lot happens outside hints at the capabilities of mutant resurrection, but it is still worth reading in the grand scheme of the series. Simply put, Wolverine (Laura Kinney), Synch, and Darwin enter the Vault and face immediate resistance. The only complaint with the comic I'd have is a personal one, as I'd hope Laura would be the focus but that honor goes to Synch. Mahmud Asrar delivers on the futuristic city that the issue takes place in with his art and that wraps things up. Hopefully the next issue is more exciting. I find it odd that the current cover art seemingly credits previous issue's guest artist Brett Booth with this issue's art when the inside credits say it is Asrar's and it looks more like his than Booth's.
