X-Men: Worlds Apart (X-Men: Worlds Apart (2008-2009)) Kindle & comiXology

4.6 4.6 out of 5 stars 106 ratings

Collects X-Men: Worlds Apart #1-4 and material from Marvel Team-Up #100 and Black Panther (1998) #26.

Can the Queen of Wakanda weather this storm? Life is never easy for a member of the X-Men, but for Ororo Iqadi T'Challa - the mutant known as Storm - it's even tougher, since she is also the queen of the African nation of Wakanda. When Ororo is called away from her duties with the X-Men to deal with a murder in Wakanda, she finds her former student, Nezhno, faced with seemingly airtight murder charges. Storm remains suspicious, however, and her fears are confirmed when her husband, the Black Panther, returns, speaking harsh words against his bride. As the Panther moves against her, Storm is confronted with the terrible truth: One of the X-Men's most fearsome enemies has returned - the devious telepath known as the Shadow King - and he's gunning for Ororo on all fronts.

Loved everything about it! Storm's willfulness in the presence of overwhelming odds combined with her sheer ferocity when fighting for what she knows is right is awe inspiring!! And the art is amazing! Would that they could bring this wind rider to life in live action!!

This is my first time reading a comic. It was hard for me to keep up and figure out how to read it but I eventually figured it out. I started this to get more insight on Storm and now I understand her story a little better.

If you are wondering just how much of a bad a$$ Storm really is, then I really recommend you get this mini-series just to see it for yourself. Seriously, the way Fox portrays her in their movies does not do her justice. Storm is definitely a force to be reckoned with and I think Christopher Yost captured her character perfectly in this mini story arc. If you are a Storm fan like myself, you definitely want to add this to your collection.

This is a good comic. There is really cool artwork. If you are a fan of Storm, the super hero, you should like this paperback. Storm really fights it out for the family and friends she loves. She faces the crazy villian the Shadow King who attacks her family and friends on this fantasy comic. I really enjoyed this paperback and comic story. And then bought the original comics (1-4) in this series.

Being a Storm fan since I first picked up a X-Men comic , I hoped for some stand alone storylines for her character. This did not disappoint not going to spoil it just saying if you are a fan you will enjoy this book.

The weather goddess is the star of this collection, and the story explores a good portion of Storm's past and present circumstances. It's not groundbreaking, but a good addition to the X-men storyline.

Also includes 2 issues of classic Black Panther and Storm stories.

Pencils/inks are clean and detailed, and the colorist did a fantastic job.

Highly recommended for Storm fans, but doesn't add too much for general X-men followers.

3.0 out of 5 stars Was expecting much more
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on August 10, 2010
I was expecting much more from this book. It's still great, as always, to read about Storm, but other than that, the story is pretty straightforward, you don't have time to get into and empathise with what she is feeling. It's a quick succession of decisions and flights, and it's all done. It seems too easy when you consider she is fighting one of the x-men's most powerful enemies. On the other hand, illustrations are good, and sometimes, marvellous. I might consider checking the book again without reading, just following the illustrations.

I'd recommend this book for readers that really want to follow Storm's story but still haven't read a lot of marvel comics.
