Gavin Aung Than is a freelance cartoonist based in Melbourne, Australia. After working in the corporate graphic design industry for eight years he quit his unfulfilling job at the end of 2011 to focus on his true passion, drawing cartoons. Gavin launched Zen Pencils at the start of 2012, a cartoon blog which adapts inspirational quotes into comic stories, and hasn't looked back since.

I have been a long time fan of the Zen Pencils web comics, so I picked this up for my eldest son, who is eleven. He really enjoyed it and said he felt inspired. As for me, I felt that the artwork is amazing, yet in a simple, cartoon style that is clean and easy to relate to. The author's interpretations of these famous quotes are well thought out and heartfelt, he obviously was inspired to create meaningful depictions that keep the reader engaged. It seemed like every other page I was smiling, there is something very satisfying to physically hold these comics in your hands and turn the pages, something we cannot do on the website!
